How to serve this goat cheese dip
Roasted Cherry Tomato Goat Cheese Dip can be served warm or at room temperature.
Some great dippers are:
- Baguette or French bread
- Slow Cooker Focaccia Bread
- Crackers, torn bagels, crostini, or pita chips
💡Tips & Tricks
- Tomatoes: Cherry tomatoes have thinner skins and are less meaty than grape tomatoes. I prefer them for this recipe, but grape tomatoes could also be used.
- Goat cheese: So that the flavors of the garlicky roasted tomatoes shine, I like plain goat cheese better than flavored varieties for this dip.

Roasted Cherry Tomato Goat Cheese Dip
Equipment
- baking dish/casserole dish
- fork
- platter for serving
Ingredients
- 10.5 ounces plain goat cheese (300g)
- 2 pints cherry tomatoes (approx. 1.5 lb / 680g / 4-5 cups)
- 3-4 garlic cloves chopped
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2-3 large fresh basil leaves sliced
- Optional topping: crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Set goat cheese on counter to soften. Preheat oven to 400℉.
- Place tomatoes in a baking dish and top with garlic. Pour olive oil over the tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Roast in oven for 30 minutes.
- Use a fork to gently smoosh each tomato. We don't want to obliterate the tomatoes, we want to keep them intact, but a little deflated.
- When the goat cheese has softened, place it in the middle of a platter and spread it out with a fork or rubber spatula. Keep moving it outward until it's near the edge of the platter.
- Spoon all the tomatoes and garlic over the goat cheese. Top with sliced fresh basil and if desired, a sprinkling of crushed red pepper flakes. Serve warm or at room temperature with fresh bread, crostini, or your favorite dipper. Enjoy!
Notes
- For food safety, make sure the dip doesn’t sit out for more than 2 hours.
- If you have a Costco membership, they have a 2-pack of 10.5 ounce logs of goat cheese for a great price!
- For reference, the platter used in the photos is 13.5″ in diameter.
- Store leftovers in an air-tight container for up to 4 days.
- Grape tomatoes can be used in place of cherry tomatoes, just know that they’re meatier and their skins are thicker. You may need to cook them longer.
- I have balsamic vinegar in the ingredient photo. Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t. This dip is amazing without it, so I decided not to add it in the ingredient list. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly if you do.
This dip is a fan-favorite every time I make it! Hope you give it a try!
