Cut about 1/4" off the top of the garlic bulb, so that the tops of the garlic cloves are exposed. Drizzle olive oil all over the top of the exposed garlic, this keeps it moist, preventing it from burning. If desired, sprinkle a little salt on top. Wrap the bulb in foil and cook according to your preferred method below.
Air Fryer Instructions
Heat air fryer to 375/380℉. Place wrapped bulb/bulbs in the air fryer. Cook for 20-25 minutes, checking on them at the 20-minute mark. The cloves should be golden when they're done. I always check them at the earliest time and add extra minutes if needed.
When done, you can squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of the bulb. Uses for roasted garlic included in post. Enjoy!
Oven Instructions
Preheat oven to 400℉. Place wrapped bulb/bulbs in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, checking on them at the 35-minute mark. The cloves should be golden when they're done. I always check them at the earliest time and add extra minutes if needed.
When done, you can squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of the bulb. Uses for roasted garlic included in post. Enjoy!
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to make a bigger batch of roasted garlic.
Notes
You can roast the garlic in an air fryer without foil. You'll want to reduce the temperature to 350℉ and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until golden.
Some air fryers only have 10-degree increments, which is why the temperature in the recipe says 375/380.
Roasted garlic should keep in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
Can be frozen in ice cube trays in olive oil to be recipe-ready.
