Creamy Roasted Garlic Dressing is a versatile condiment that will be your new go-to sauce, dip, and dressing, all-in-one! You’ll want to put it on everything!

It’s made with roasted garlic, creamy mayo, tangy buttermilk, red wine vinegar for acid, and Dijon mustard. Chives give it a delicious subtle onion flavor.

It’s an excellent salad dressing, but it’s so much more!

This roasted garlic dressing is the ultimate dip for fries, tater tots, raw vegetables or artichokes. We also serve it with roasted veggies (especially potatoes) or drizzled over rice bowls.

This creamy roasted garlic dressing is a versatile condiment that can be used so many ways:

  • Perfect dressing on green leaf salads
  • It’s a delicious condiment drizzled on grain or rice bowls
  • A flavorful dip for smashed Brussels sprouts, fresh veggies, or tater/broccoli tots

💡Tips & Tricks

  • Roasted garlic: I have instructions in the recipe for both oven-roasted and air fryer roasted garlic. I like to make several batches of roasted garlic because it’s an easy way to add flavor to foods.
  • Acidity: This dressing has a delicious creamy/tangy flavor. To make it less tangy, you can add more mayo or less red wine vinegar. I’d keep the buttermilk, as it contributes to the texture.
  • Buttermilk: You can make your own homemade buttermilk for this recipe by combining milk with either lemon juice or white vinegar (full instructions on recipe card below).

Ingredients
  

  • 7-8 cloves roasted garlic
  • 6 tablespoons mayo (1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons)
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon
  • 1 tablespoon sliced chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients (roasted garlic, mayo, buttermilk, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon, chives, salt & pepper) to a food processor or blender. Blend 10-15 seconds or until smooth and there are no more chunks of garlic.
  • It's best to wait a couple hours before serving so the flavors meld. Feel free to make a day or 2 in advance. Enjoy!

Notes

  • This recipe makes 2/3 cup of dressing.
  • Store the dressing in an air-tight container in the fridge and use within 4-5 days.
  • To make this recipe with homemade buttermilk, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice or white vinegar to a liquid measuring cup, then add milk to the 1/3 cup line.  Stir and let sit for 5-10 minutes before using.
