Flavored with garlic, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, and toasted sesame seeds, these Garlic Sesame Green Beans are the perfect addition to your favorite Asian dish or any time you need a flavorful vegetable side!
Add green beans and water to a skillet with a lid. Bring water to a boil, then steam on medium heat for approximately 6-7 minutes. Don't have the heat too high or the water will evaporate too quickly.
Remove the lid and continue to cook on medium heat until all the water is mostly gone from the pan (2-3 minutes).
Add the olive/avocado oil and garlic to the pan. Sauté the garlic for 2 minutes, then add the soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. The green beans should be tender-crisp. Taste for any needed salt & pepper and garnish with your desired amount of toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy!
Notes
If you don't have store-bought toasted sesame seeds, you can make your own by toasting sesame seeds in a dry skillet for a couple minutes until they're golden.
