Have I got an amazing appetizer for you!  Cheesy Baked Spicy Italian Dip checks ALL my boxes: warm, cheesy, creamy, spicy, and has a wonderful cheese pull from all the mozzarella.

What’s Italian about this cheese dip?

  • Two iconic Italian cheeses, mozzarella and parmesan.  What cheesy dip would be complete without creamy, melty mozzarella and rich, nutty parmesan?
  • Salami, a quintessential Italian meat, adds a wonderful flavor and texture.
  • Crushed Calabrian Chili Peppers, which come from Calabria, a region in Southern Italy.  They’re spicy, tangy, salty, and so full of flavor!

I have always wanted to cook with Calabrian chili peppers, but have never seen them in stores.  I found them at Supermarket Italy and was so excited to try them!

I love foods that are not only spicy, but full of flavor, too.  You get all that and more with Tutto Calabria Crushed Hot Chili Peppers.

The crushed peppers are made with crushed Calabrian chili peppers, oil, salt, vinegar, and basil.  It’s like an explosion of flavor in your mouth.

My husband tried a spoonful and as his eyes opened wide he said, “Wow!  That’s amazing!” If you like chili pepper flakes, chili oil, or hot sauce made with chile peppers, I think you will love this stuff.

I’ve added these crushed hot chili peppers to Italian pot roast, mixed it with mayo for a tasty sandwich spread, and added it to this cheesy Italian dip.

French bread or a baguette would be great for dipping, but I love the toasts I got from Supermarket Italy the best.  They’re crispy, crunchy, buttery, and perfect for dipping in this warm, cheesy dip.
