Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli
If you are here looking for an insanely easy dinner recipe, I got you covered!
Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken recipe is so easy to make, yet super delicious. You’ll just have to make it to believe it for yourself!
Fresh broccoli combined with chicken and teriyaki sauce in the slow cooker turns into a magical, tasty dinner.
You can throw the broccoli in at the beginning, but for better texture, I like to add it at the end, then garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallions.
Another great option is this veggie-filled, healthy chicken stir fry and these teriyaki pineapple chicken bowls!
Ingredients needed to make this recipe (scroll down to recipe card for complete recipe):
- Chicken breasts
- Teriyaki sauce
- Sriracha
- Broccoli
- Scallions
- Toasted sesame seeds
How to make this recipe:
- Making this dish is as easy as adding chicken breasts to a slow cooker and topping them with a blend of teriyaki sauce and sriracha.
- After three hours, shred the chicken into large chunks, add the broccoli and more teriyaki sauce if needed.
- When it’s done, garnish with sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds. It really couldn’t be easier! (complete instructions on recipe card below)
How to serve Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli:
Teriyaki chicken and broccoli is perfect served over rice or lo mein noodles.
I like to serve this Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli over brown rice, but you could use white rice, farro, cauliflower rice, or your favorite side.
Some excellent side dishes for this meal are:
- Crispy egg rolls
- Steamed or fried gyoza
- Garlic Sesame Pan-Fried Shishito Peppers
- Scallion pancakes
TIP: Trader Joe’s has fantastic gyoza, egg rolls, and scallion pancakes in their freezer section! Bonus, they’re inexpensive too!
Can I use frozen broccoli?
I have only used fresh broccoli when testing this recipe. For tender-crisp broccoli, add it towards the end of the cooking time.
Frozen broccoli won’t have the same great texture and may add water to the meal as it defrosts in the slow cooker.

NOTES:
- The specific teriyaki sauce I used in creating this recipe is shown below. I like it because it is loaded with garlic, sesame seeds, and scallions. You can get it HERE from Amazon.
- While all the ingredients of this recipe could all be dumped in the slow cooker together, waiting to add the broccoli towards the end really is the most delicious. That way the broccoli will have a great texture.
- I add sriracha to the teriyaki sauce because I like how the spicy sriracha helps cut the inherent sweetness of teriyaki sauce. Feel free to add more or less to suit your tastes.

What a delicious easy weeknight meal! My family ate it up so fast, they all loved it! Thank you for the recipe!
Thank you for letting me know! So glad it was a hit :)
I made this recipe and it turned out very well!
It was sooo delicious. I used chicken tenders and cooked 2 hrs on high with scallions, I added slightly steamed broccoli towards the last 20 minutes
Can you substitute asparagus and/or carrots the broccoli? I’m referring to the Teriyaki Chicken with Broccoli recipe in the slow cooker. Thank you.
I have only recipe tested this with fresh broccoli. I think carrots would be fine, but the asparagus will probably get soft quickly. If you use it, I would add it at the end. Enjoy!
I made this yesterday! Since I only had frozen broccoli I steamed that instead. The chicken and sauce was so good… kids already asked when I would make it again. Thank you!!
Recipe s looks delicious
Thank you for the feedback, Alice! :)
Always happy for another slow cooker recipe. I’m sure this dish will be a hit in our household. Can’t wait to try it out next week!
